Mineral System

"Volcanic earth, softened by time"
Material Character
Sfumato is an ultra-matte lime-based finish with veil-like softness. Named after Leonardo da Vinci's sfumato technique — the art of soft transitions where edges dissolve and boundaries blur — this material transforms hard architecture into something almost atmospheric.
Raw mineral character meets refined elegance. The lime base provides natural breathability and alkalinity, creating a surface that actively regulates humidity while offering the visual depth that only genuine mineral materials can achieve.
Sfumato is for spaces that aspire to timelessness — walls that could belong to a Renaissance palazzo or a contemporary gallery, because the language of pure mineral transcends era and style.

Application
Entire rooms, ceilings, architectural surfaces, galleries, spiritual spaces. Sfumato is not an accent — it is a total environment material. It transforms complete spaces into unified mineral landscapes where every surface breathes with the same quiet depth.
System Position
Sfumato is the softer expression in POEMA's Mineral System, paired with Assoluta which offers sculptural possibility. While Assoluta can be carved and textured, Sfumato delivers the gentlest mineral surface — pure lime, pure matte, pure silence. Both share a lime base and 24-hour cure cycle.
